Admission Requirements
This course is open to all Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) and those working towards obtaining their RDA, Must be 18 years of age or older.
- DA qualified to take the RDA exam. RDA'S & DA must send with registration copies of:
- Current CPR card(AHA or ARC)
- California 8-hour Infection Control Certificate
- California Dental Practice Act
- Radiation Safety Certificate
- Coronal Polish Certificate
Pit and Fissure Sealant Course Overview
Course Delivery
This program combines self-paced online study with a hands-on, in-person session. Online Component
Students complete Self-Study and Videos, and in-person lectures that covers:
• Covers topics like infection control, patient management, dental anatomy, and legal/ethical considerations.
• Provides essential theoretical foundation and scientific principles
• Ensures understanding of tooth morphology and identification of suitable cases
• Covers critical safety protocols and infection control measures
• Establishes legal and ethical framework for practice
• Teaches risk assessment and patient selection criteria
All online content and assessments must be finished before attending the on-site class.
In-Person Session
Once registration is confirmed, the in-person portion will be scheduled. The day begins with a written examination, followed by faculty-led instruction on each step of pit and fissure sealant placement using a typodont/manikin.
Students will Practice tooth preparation and moisture control
Master proper sealant application and bite articulation Demonstrate clinical proficiency on the manikin
After demonstrating skill on the typodont, each student will place sealants on 16 virgin teeth (teeth without existing restorations).
clinical experience on four patients with two of the four patients used for the clinical examination. Each clinical patient must have a minimum of four (4) virgin, non-restored, natural teeth, sufficiently erupted so that a dry field can be maintained, for application of the etching, or etchant/bond combination, and sealant materials. Such clinical instruction shall include teeth in all four quadrants for each patient. Students are required to bring own actual patients.

Certification Upon Completion
Meeting all course requirements—including online study, hands-on practice, patient treatments, and successful final exams—satisfies California Dental Board standards for issuance of the Pit and Fissure Sealant Certificate.

California Dental Board-Approved Ultrasonic Scaling Course

Admission Requirements
Bring protective eyewear. Gloves and masks will be provided.
To participate, you must be able to communicate in English and be at least 18 years of age. Alternatively, you can be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or a Dental Assistant (DA) who is qualified to take the OAP exam. If you are an RDA, you must send a copy of your RDA License. If you are a DA, you must send with your registration copies of the following documents:
- Current CPR card (AHA or ARC)
- California 8-hour Infection Control Certificate
- California Dental Practice Act
- Orthodontic Assistant course Certificate
Before clinic day, the student must complete online training and pass online quizzes.
On clinic day, the student must wear scrubs, have their hair pulled back above the collar, and not wear open-ended footwear.
Ultrasonic Scaling Course Overview
The Dental Board of California–approved Ultrasonic Scaling course is an eight-hour course combining didactic instruction with hands-on practice to train Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) and Ortho Assistant Permit (OAP) candidates in safe, efficient use of ultrasonic scalers for cement removal from orthodontically-banded teeth.
Self-paced 4- hour online Didactic component covering Fundementals, Safety and infection Control , Clinical theory, and Advanced Concepts of Ultrasonic Scaling. Online materials and quizes must be compleded before laboratory session.
Lab Component are 4- hours including set-up & introduction, Ergonomics demonstartion, Skill Development, Assesment & Cleanup.
